Gibraltar Post has issued a new miniature sheet featuring King George V, King Edward VII, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II, to mark 100 years of the House of Windsor.

The House of Windsor was established during World War I, when anti-German feeling in Britain was at its height and Britain's monarchy felt the need to distance itself from its German origins. The new family name came into effect on 17 July 1917, when the name Saxe Coburg and Gotha was abandoned in favour of the British-sounding Windsor.

Designed by Stephen Perera, the miniature sheet features two colour photographs (George V and his grandaughter Elizabeth II) and two black & white photo (the brothers King Edward VII and King George VI) with a silhouette of the Queen's portrait and the wording 'House of Windsor centenary'. The sheet has a tartan border.
