Norway celebrates the 150th Anniversary of Norwegian Meteorological Institute on a new pair of stamps.

The Norwegian Meteorological Institute was founded on 1 December 1866.

Since the start of weather forecasting in the 1860s, Norwegian researchers and meteorologists have developed their knowledge about weather and weather prediction into a very precise service.

Today, the forecasts and information can be found on yr.no

The stamps feature dramatic photographs by Bruno Oldani, showing some of the weather conditions in the country.
