The late stamp designer Ivan Strnad has been honoured with a stamp featuring his portrait and two of his designs.
Ivan Strnad (1926-2005) was a Czech designer who created more than 100 stamps for Cezchsolovakia as well as banknotes and share warrants. Strnad was born in Prague and was a teacher at the city's Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design. One of his forms of art was figure composition, which is reflected in the new 10 CZK stamp, which features a female nude from a 1974 Intersputnik stamp, as well as an item of postal stationery from a stamp celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of automated telephone operation, issued in 1975.

The Ivan Strnad stamp is issued in sheets of thirty and as a booklet of eight stamps and four coupons. The coupon features the background of the 1 Kcs stamp which appeared in the 1977 Space Exploration series.
