The Faroe Islands Post Office has issued details of its 2015 stamp issue programme, which includes stamps on the topics of Magna Carta, women's suffrage and religion in the age of the Vikings.

The year of issues begins with a stamp (issued 23 February) to mark the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta, one of the world's most famous historical documents, written in 1215 by King John of England. The charters contents formed the basis of the English constitution and have inspired over governments around the world over the centuries.

Also scheduled for issue on 23 February is a stamp (pictured) by artist Edward Fuglo celebrating a century of women's suffrage. March will see the release of a minisheet with two stamps to mark the total solar eclipse, followed in April by two stamps showing old toys; Faroe Islands' contribution to Europa 2015, as well as stamps to mark the 75th anniversary of the birth of the Faroese flag.

Religion in the Viking age is the topic for September, when engraver Martin Morck will design a minisheet with two stamps. Also issued in September will be a SEPAC stamp on the theme of knitting, as well as the Christmas 2015 issue, featuring the Three Wise Men.
