Finland Post has issued details of its 2014 stamp programme, with issues including the Tove Jansson centenary, the Finnjet ferry and the Linnansaari National Park.

Finland's 2014 philatelic programme will launch with twelve issues, to be released between January and May, featuring 36 different images. The first issue is scheduled for 20 January with an 'Ancient Castles' booklet of six stamps, designed by Erik Brunn. The six 1st class stamps will feature the castles of Suomenlinna, Häme, Raseborg, Kastelholm, Olavinlinna and Turku .

Next is the 'Bear Friends' booklet, to celebrate St Valentine's Day, which will comprise six 1st class stamps by Henna Takkinen - her first ever stamp designs. The third issue of January is a snowman stamp, followed by a set of stamps to mark the centenary of the birth of Tove Jansson (1914-2001) creator of 'The Moomins' TV characters. Designed by Klaus Welp, the stamps show Jansson and her island birthplace, as well as the centenary logo created to mark the anniversary of her birth.

Next comes Finland's Easter stamps, issued in March, and featuring a girl dressed as a bunny, surrounded by flowers and Easter eggs. Designer Kaarina Toivanen continues the Spring theme with three 'fruits in the garden' stamps.

On 17 March, Finland Post's maritime series concludes with the release of two stamps featuring the Finnjet ferry which navigated between Helsinki and Travemünde from 1977 to 2008. The final three issues of the January to May 2014 period will be Finnish instruments stamps, which will be Finland's contribution to the Europa 2014 stamp issues; Finnish landscapes by designer Janne Groning; and a stamp featuring the Linnansaari National Park.
