Gibraltar Post has announced the release of the first of a five-year series of stamps devoted to various squadrons of the RAF. The set has been specially produced by the RAF Museum and designed by Stephen Perera, with the stamps featuring aircraft and the miniature sheet depicting squadron blazer badges sewn with gold thread.

The four stamps which make up the first issue are: 22 Squadron (10p value), which was originally formed in 1915 and operated torpedo bombing raids during World War Two; 89 Squadron (42p), formed in 1917 as a training unit and whose members helped to defend the Suez Canal; 111 Squadron (76p) who operated in Scotland until disbanded in 2011; and 248 Squadron (£2) which served in both World Wars and is based in Scotland.
