Four stamps featuring colourful gingerbread houses have been issued by the United States Postal Service. The four 'Forever' stamps have been issued in time for the Christmas season, a period when gingerbread houses decorated with colourful icing are used to celebrate the festive season.
The stamps feature four different gingerbread houses, each set against a blue background, with gingerbread decorations including sugary fruit slices for shingles, peppermint sticks for support beams, and round, candy-coated chocolate for doorknobs and holly berries.
Sally Andersen-Bryce photographed the gingerbread homes, which were created by baker Teresa Layman. Stamp designer on this issue was Derry Noyes.
