Hungary has issued its first ever audible postage stamps, with stamps marking the 200th birth anniversaries of musicians Richard Wagner and Giuseppe Verdi. This issue marks the first time that Magyar Posta has used QR code technology on one of its products - when scanned with a smart phone, the user can access information about the bi-centenaries of the two musicians, taken from the Hungarian State Opera House's website.

The two stamps feature portraits of Wagner and Verdi - Richard Wagner (1813-1883) appears on a 165 forint value, whilst Verdi (1813-1901) is shown on the 325 forint stamp. Graphic representations from the work of both composers appears in the background of each stamp, featuring Wagner's Das Rheingold and Verdi's Aida.
