Jersey Post has issued a set of fourteen stamps to mark the thirtieth anniversary of the Island Games, as Jersey hosts the Games this summer.
The bi-ennial Island Games was established in 1985, originally intended as a one-off event. The Games are now held every other year and this year, Jersey is due to host the Games from 27 June to 3 July 2015, welcoming some 3,000 athletes and 1,000 officials to the island.
This year, sixteen sports will be played, each of which is depicted on the new stamps:
* Archery
* Athletics
* Badminton
* Basketball
* Cycling
* Football
* Golf
* Sailing and windsurfing
* Shooting
* Swimming
* Table tennis
* Tennis
* Triathlon
* Volleyball & beach volleyball
Each of the stamps features a photograph of the sport (or sports), with action shots of athletes taking part in the sport in Jersey, with both indoor and outdoor scenes included.
