Royal Mail is encouraging customers to post their festive greetings early, and order their online gifts and shopping well in advance, to help its postmen and women deliver the bumper festive mailbag. The latest recommended posting dates for mail to arrive in time for Christmas are:
- Tuesday 20 December for Second Class mail
- Wednesday 21 December for First Class mail
- Thursday 22 December for Special Delivery
- Friday 23 December Special Delivery Saturday Guaranteed
December 2016 marks the 50th anniversary of Royal Mail’s very first Christmas Special Stamps.
Since then over 17 billion Christmas Special Stamps have been printed. There have been 229 Christmas Special Stamps designs.
