Swedish artist Maja Lindberg has made her debut with Aland Post with a commission for a postal stationery issue on the theme of autumn.

'Autumn is quite a melancholic season. I regret the falling leaves that inevitably follow the incredibly beautiful colours.' (Maja Lindberg)

Aland Post anticipates the coming of autumn with a set of three postal stationery cards which show the changing of the seasons as summer comes to the end, as seen through the eyes of a child. Artist Maja Lindberg, who has produced her first work for Aland Post, used fairy tales as inspiration for the three designs, which show a child sitting below a tree which is shedding its leaves, children playing in the autumn leaves, and a child sitting alone below bare trees.

'Autumn is lovely at the beginning but, later, it becomes slightly depressing. These are the images that popped up in my head when I received the commission. They illustrate my sensation of autumn,' said Maja.
