Suzanne Rae has been appointed as the new chairman for the Philatelic Traders’ Society (PTS), taking over from Rick Warren who has served in the role for five years.
The new appointment was made at a recent PTS Council meeting and Rick will continue to serve on Council as vice-Chairman until the 2019 AGM in September.
According to the PTS, Suzanne will bring a fresh and youthful approach to PTS matters, especially in the area of Information Technology.
Suzanne said:
‘I was thrilled to be asked to step into the role of Chairman. I look forward to working closely with the PTS Council and our members in implementing some of the latest ideas aimed at boosting the hobby of stamp collecting and positively promoting our trade.’
Suzanne will be familiar to Stampex visitors as she regularly exhibits her stamp-inspired artwork at the show, under the name ArtStamped. Suzanne has also run a number of special stamp workshops for young collectors at Stampex.
Rick Warren added:
‘I’ve enjoyed being chairman of The PTS over the last five years and have many fond memories. It has also been a pleasure to work closely with my daughter Lucie who joined the company two years ago. We’ve achieved a lot in this time and I’m delighted to be handing over the reins to Suzanne.’
