New Zealand Post reveals Christmas 2013 stamps

New Zealand Post has revealed the designs of its five Christmas stamps, which show aspects of a 'classic Kiwi Christmas'. The stamps, designed by Martin Bailey, are in five denominations and reflect different aspects of the New Zealand festive season, which falls at the height of summer.

The issue is as follows:

• 70c - Gift Giving. A family exchange presents beside the Christmas tree.
• $1.40 - Christmas Lunch. A festive meal beneath the trees.
• $1.90 - Decorating the tree. A family get together to adorn their tree with Kiwi ornaments including jandals and pukeko.
• $2.40 - Cricket on the beach. The perfect way to burn off calories after Christmas lunch.
• $2.90 - Carol singing. A group gather by candelight to sing traditional songs.

The stamps are accompanied by two first day covers, both of which feature New Zealand Christmas trees.
