Royal Mail have introduced Christmas postboxes with ‘an elfy dose of festive cheer’, with the four special postboxes producing the sound of elves hard at work whenever an item of mail is posted.

First introduced last year, four festive postboxes will be decorated and 'filled with elves ready to respond once a letter or card is posted.' We're not sure of the Health and Safety (or should that be elf and safety?) implications of putting the poor elves inside, but it certainly brings some fun to this frantic, festive time of year!

The festive postboxes are decked with festive designs, and respond to post with the sounds of elves hard at work.
