The Italian Post Office has issued a stamp to commemorate the 350th anniversary of Italy's oldest newspaper, the Gazzetta di Mantova.

The Gazetta is a daily newspaper which was founded in 1664, making it not only the oldest newspaper in Italy, but one of the oldest such publications in the world. Its headquarters are in Mantova, a historic city in Lombardy, northern Italy.

The stamp features a riverside view of Mantova, with a copy of a page of the newspaper dating to 27 November 1665. This page is the oldest surviving copy from the paper and is held by the state archives of Modena.

To purchase the stamp, visit the Italia Post website.
