Classic saloon cars of the 1920s to 1940s are featured on a new stamp set from Lichtenstein Post.

The four stamp set, designed by Canadian artist Mark Heine, is the latest in the Post's 'collections in Lichtenstein' series. Each of the stamps features gold 'hot foil' markings, to emphasise the prestige of the cars featured.

The four cars pictured are:

  • Rolls Royce Phantom II, 1933
  • Pierce Arrow Type 133, 1929
  • Studebaker Big Six, 1935
  • Jaguar Mark IV, 1948

Perhaps the best known of the four classic cars is the Rolls Royce Phantom, a luxurious six-seater vehicle with separate chauffeur compartment. The example shown on the stamp was commissioned by a wealthy American manufacturer hoping to impress his future wife with an extravagant gift.
