The EUROPA theme for 2015 will be 'Old Toys' and Denmark are set to kick start what will be a popular thematic with a pair of stamps dedicated to one of their biggest exports: lego.
Each year POST EUROP, the trade association that represents European public postal operators, announces a different stamp theme, inviting European philatelic bureaux to issue one set of stamps on the theme during the year.
Issued on 2 January, Post Danmark's two lego stamps each show a lego minifigure, with the value and country name written on the side of lego bricks.
A spokesperson for Post Danmark said: 'The LEGO Group is the biggest toy manufacturer in Europe and a global market leader for construction toys. The stamps have been designed by Post Danmark Stamps and printed in offset.'
Other countries to have confirmed their 'Old Toy' stamps for 2015 include:
• Russia
• Belarus
• Guernsey
• Slovakia
• Lithuania
• Slovenia
• Austria
• Poland
