Canada Post are set to issue a stamp in honour of Mike Myers, the star of the Austin Powers and Wayne's World movies.

The stamp will be part of a 'Canadian comedians' set to be issued in August or September this year. The other comedians to be honoured have yet to be announced.

Myers was born in Toronto, Ontario, in 1963, to British parents, from Liverpool. He is best known for his role in the NBC television series Saturday Night Live, which led to his first big-screen success with two Wayne’s World films, and went on to star in three Austin Powers movies. More recently he provided the voice of Shrek in the animated film series.

The undenominated stamp shows Myers with three of his characters in the background: rock fan Wayne from Waynes World, the title hero of the 1960s Bond-spoof Austin Powers fims, and Austin Powers' hapless nemesis Dr Evil.
