A new stamp issued by Swiss Post celebrates the 'animal of the year' for 2012 - the long-eared bat. The stamp is perforated in the shape of a bat and is printed using a double print technique, which gives a 3d effect and makes the bat image appear lifelike to the human eye.

The stamp was issued on 6 September 2012, alongside a set of pop art stamps celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the pop art movement, which began with Andy Warhol's Campbell's Soup can. The three stamps in the new issue feature James Bond, Bond Street and Pudding, and were designed by leading Swiss pop art creator Peter Stampfli.
