If you’ve ever been to Stampex International, walked around the frames of exhibits, and wanted to know more about the wealth of material and information on show, then a new ‘exhibition tour’ is for you.

The Philatelic Traders’ Society (PTS) and the Association of British Philatelic Societies (ABPS) have announced the launch of thirty-minute tours which will be held on the Thursday and Friday during Stampex International, giving visitors the chance to hear directly from an expert and be walked around the exhibits.

Suzanne Rae, Chairman, The PTS, said: ‘We are delighted that the ABPS will be hosting these tours. The exhibitions held at Stampex International allow us to showcase and celebrate collections from leading enthusiasts. We are proud to invite judges from all over the world to Stampex International. This very exciting opportunity gives us the benefit of connecting visitors further with the exhibits.’

In another new offering, Stampex International will play hose to a number of special philatelic talks, with your very own editor Matt Hill hosting a discussion with distinguished collectors Frank Walton and Edward Klempka. Matt said: ‘We’re really excited to be involved in the talks at Stampex, and I’m looking forward to quizzing Frank and Edward, finding out more about their collecting experiences and learning more about their involvement in philtely.’ Details of the talks will be included in the next issue of Stamp Collector.

Meanwhile, Autumn Stampex International will see the National Philatelic Society (NPS) as the lead society with its members showing a variety of material reflecting their many interests. There will also be a special theme on the ‘Indian Sub-Continent’ with participation from a number of societies that have a special interest in this region and from Indian collectors.

The Ephemera Society will be mounting a special display to demonstrate the range and fascination of ephemera collecting. Beyond that there will as usual be exhibits in all philatelic classes and for the first time exhibitors can enter in the Astrophilately, Maximaphily and Modern classes. Details on exhibiting at Stampex are available here.
