A USA stamp issued has broken the Guinness World Record for the furthest distance travelled by a postage stamp, more than 25 years after being issued.

The Pluto: Not Yet Explored stamp was issued in 1991 and was put on board a NASA spacecraft in 2006. Since then it has travelled more than 3 billion miles to the dwarf planet Pluto.

The US Postal Service and NASA marked the achievement recently at a ceremony at Postal Service headquarters.
