The Vatican Philatelic Office has issued details of its Easter 2012 stamp, which features a miniature from a fifteenth-century manuscript. The stamp features the Vatican's emblem along with a portrait of the risen Christ, taken from a page in the Codices Urbinates Latini which was decorated by Florentine artists in the late 1400s. The manuscript is in the keeping of the Vatican Apostolic Library and is recognised as one of the world's finest works of medieval religious art.
