The world’s first Cinderella stamp congress is set to take place in September at the Royal Philatelic Society London, offering collectors displays, auctions and a congress dinner.

Taking place between 16 and 18 September 2016, the free event is open to anyone and begins with a fifty-frame display of Cinderella philately by members of the Cinderella Stamp Club. There will be a free drinks reception and buffet plus a special souvenir for everyone attending.

The Saturday will feature an invited display of revenues, and display of Scandanavian Cinderellas, and over 200 lots of Cinderellas and revenues followed by the Congress Dinner at the local Strada Restaurant. Dress is informal and attendance optional. The cost is £25 per head with wine supplied free by the Club.

Sunday will feature displays of Poster Stamps and Locals, and the Lundy Collectors’ Club and The Meter Mark Study Group will both hold meetings. Sunday afternoon will see the signing of The Maurice Williams Roll of Notable Cinderella Philatelists.

A spokesperson for the event said: ‘Everyone is welcome to bring their own displays for all Saturday or Sunday sessions but it is not a requirement. Refreshments will be provided throughout and dealers will be present. Everyone is welcome to bring their spare material for sale.

This is a free event, but it would help us if those attending could pre-register just so we have an idea of how many people we are catering for.’
