The society was founded in 1952 and meets at the Hope Farm Methodist Church Hall, Bridge Meadow, Great Sutton, Ellesmere Port, CH66 2LF
The society is noted for its friendliness. Its annual programme has fortnightly meetings from early September to April/May, including guest speakers, competitions, members' presentations, an annual quiz and informal meetings. Two well-supported auctions are held each year.
