Prince Albert I's visits to the island of Madeira are celebrated on a €2.86 stamp.
Prince Albert I maintained a very close relationship with Madeira, undertaking no fewer than six scientific campaigns on the island.
The stamp depicts the famous descents in “Carros de Cesto” (wicker sleds), in which Prince Albert I took part on several occasions.
