Jersey Post has announced that it will become the first British postal administration to incorporate real diamonds into its stamp issues, with the release of a special stamp for the queen's Diamond Jubilee. ...

Jersey Post is to incorporate real diamonds into its Diamond Jubilee stamp issue this year, thanks to a technique developed by Cartor Security Printing in France. The stamps, to be issued on 6 February 2012, will incorporate a hand-cut diamond, and will be released as a limited edition of 600, priced at £125 each.

Sally Diamond Ferbrache of Jersey Post, said: 'We've always had a close relationship with Cartor Security Printing of France; the Managing Director, Ian Brigham, had shared with me early in 2011 that they had developed a unique technique of being able to affix a real diamond to a stamp.

'Of course, given the Diamond Jubilee, it was an opportunity we could not miss. And to be the first British postal administration to do so was the icing on the cake.'
