What's in this Issue?

We fast forward a little for our regular price guide, this time focussing on GB’s overprinted lilacs of the 1880s; whilst our article on Commonwealth stamps provides an in-depth guide to Nyasaland High Values including the first large key types to be used across the Empire.

Our Celebrated Sets article goes ‘across the Pond’ to Canada, to take in one of the country’s more interesting sets, the Provincial Emblems of 1964-6; we look back on National Savings Stamps in this month’s Philatelic Focus; and we tell the postal history story of the short-lived post office at Versailles Palace, France.

The April issue also sees the introduction of two brand new regular features. Our ‘Conversations with Philatelists’ column, sees video podcasters Michael Cortese of NobleSpirit and Charles Epting of H.R. Harmer, reflect on their discoveries whilst producing their popular podcast series; whilst a swashbuckling new series will re-tell daring and dramatic adventures from the long history of philately in a ‘Boy’s Own’ style.

Combined with our ‘Adventures of a Newbie’ column, ‘Legendary Stamps’ (a remarkable Austrian Levant Post Office cover), Stamp Sidelines, and already popular Stamp Quiz, the new features create an entertaining and informative section of the magazine.

Every month Stamp Collector is packed full of information, advice, and inspiration to help you build your knowledge and your collection. April’s issue is no different and we can’t wait to share it with you!
