The recent Cherrystone Philatelic Auctions sale of Rare Stamps and Postal History of the World featured a wide selection of rarites from the US and US possessions, and an impressive range of material in the Worldwide section.
Indian Icon
This unused 1854 Indian 4a blue and red, from the second printing, was one of the highlights of the sale.
Unused without gum as issued, and large margins showing part of marginal ornaments, the stamp was described as being an ‘impressive example of this popular Victorian India icon’ and came with a 2022 BPA certificate.

Albanian Eagles
A complete collection of Albanian 1913 Double Eagle handstamps, with all values represented, including the rare 25pi ‘Russian green’, was also sold at Cherrystone.
Major rarities in the collection included the 50pi orange brown, tied on small piece by a neat Elbasan 24 June 1913 circular date stamp, well centred with neat perforations, said to be ‘certainly one of the finest (if not the finest) of the 16 issued’.

Italy in China
A 1919 '$2 DOLLARI Pechino' on 5L, surcharge type II, exceptionally well centered for this issue, fresh colour, never hinged, achieved one of the highest prices in the recent Cherrystone auction. Only 15 copies of the stamps are thought to have been printed, and this was described as being 'certainly one of the finest'. The lot came with four certificates.

Tonga invert
A Tonga 1897 7 1/2p black and green, centre inverted, corner margin single was recently sold at Cherrystone. With part original gum, pulled perforation and small abrasions, the rare stamp was otherwise fine and was said to be one of only 60 printed.
