Italia Post marks fifty years of the production of Nutella chocolate spread with a special stamp showing a jar of the product.

Nutella was introduced on 20 April, 1964 by Italian baker Michele Ferrero. The product was originally invented by his father Pietro in a solid block in the 1940s. Nowadays, it is produced in Italy by the company Ferrero.

The 0.70 Euro stamp has been issued to mark the fiftieth anniversary of Nutella and was designed by Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato.

The anniversary has also been marked with the launch of the Nutella Stories website, which invites fans of the spread to share stories, videos and photos relating to Nutella.
