An Omnibus Edition of The Coronation of King Charles lll, a set of stamps elebrating the His Majesty’s coronation, and that of his wife Queen Camilla, on 6 May this year, has been created by Pobjoy Mint
The stamps will be issued in the Ascension Islands, the Bahamas, British Antarctic Territory, the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, and Tristan da Cunha, .
The King, at 73 the oldest monarch to be crowned in British history. In a Coronation message on 8 May he said: ‘We now rededicate our lives to serving the people of the United Kingdom, the Realms and Commonwealth.’
Collectors of commemorative royal stamps will have a field day with this issue, as each territory where the stamps are issued features a different set of glorious images from the King’s coronation, each one conveying a special moment during the pomp and circumstance of the event. Robes, regalia, gilded coaches, magnificent processions, all the panoply of a great state occasion and, in particular, the faces of the newly crowned monarchs make this Omnibus Edition one that royal fans will collect and treasure.
