Gibraltar marks the 450th anniversary of the baptism of William Shakespeare with four stamps and a miniature sheet which pay tribute to the lasting impact of the bard's work.

William Shakespeare's birth date is unknown but he was baptised on 26 April 1564, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. Among his many works, which have been translated into all of the world's major languages, are comedies, tragedies, histories, romances and plays. The four stamps and one miniature sheet include quotations from some of Shakespeare's best known works, including 'Romeo & Juliet' and 'A Midsummer Night's Dream'.
