The United States Postal Service is to issue a stamp featuring the sixteenth president of the US - Abraham Lincoln.
The 21 cent stamp features a black and white photo of a famous statue of Lincoln which is housed inside the Lincoln Memorial in Washington DC and was sculpted by Daniel Chester French. Stamp designer Derry Noyes selected a close up of the president's face, which shows how he could have looked at the time of the Civil War.
The nineteen-foot tall statue is carved from Georgia marble and commemorates the life and work of Lincoln - who was president from 1861 until his assassination in 1865.
