Six stamps showing Alderney's answer to the final panel of the Bayeux Tapestry have been issued by Alderney Post. The tapestry project, which has involved a group of Alderney islanders, imagined what scenes might have featured on final panels of the Bayeux Tapestry. A replica of the final panel has been printed onto cotton and reproduced on the Miniature Sheet, something which Alderney Post believes is a first for a postal administration in Europe.

The new scenes include:
  • William the Conqueror dining with his family after his Hastings victory
  • London nobles submitting to the rule of the Conqueror
  • William's coronation at Westminster Abbey
  • The start of the construction of the Tower of London

The project was inspired by a book on the Bayeux Tapestry written by Jan Messent.
