Finland Post highlights ten vehicles used by the Finnish police over the years, including a VW Beetle and a Porsche 356B.
The ten stamps are issued under the Finland Post's new personalised stamps scheme which allows members of the public to make suggestions for stamp themes to be issued alongside the Finland Post's official stamp programme issues. The first class stamps will be sold in sheets of ten stamps through the Itella Posti store network and via the organisations's online shop.
Finland Post development director Markku Pentinnen said: 'We receive hundreds of requests and suggestions for new stamp themes each year, and have only been able to turn a fraction of them into reality. In the future, we will be able to use the great suggestions we receive more often than before.'
The ten classic vehicles on the stamps have been selected in cooperation with the Finnish police, who over the years have used around 1,500 official vehicles, three quarters of which were painted with police markings. The remaining vehicles had sirens and flashing lights only. The vehicles featured on the stamps are:
