EUROPA 2013 stamps from Malta Post

Malta's contribution to the EUROPA 2013 theme of postal vehicles is a set of stamps celebrating the island's vintage vehicles. The Mediterranean island has issued a set of two stamps through the Malta Post authority which recall postal vehicles of years gone by.

A 0.37 Euro stamp depicts a Ford Transit Mark I van in postal red, whilst the 1.19 Euro value has a painting of a Lambretta three-wheeler scooter. Each vehicle is shown against the background on a Malta street scene - the van is travelling along Merchant Street in the capital Valletta, on its way to the General Post Office, whilst the scooter is pictured on Dingli Street in Sliema, with a background of stone houses with distinctive Maltese glass balconies.

EUROPA 2013 voting

Members of the public are invited to cast their votes for the best stamp in the annual EUROPA stamp contest, alongside another contest voted for by Post Europ members. You can cast your vote at the Post Europ website until 31 August 2013.
