Fifty years of Algeria Post stamp

A new stamp marking the first fifty years of Algerian stamps has been issued by Algeria Post. The stamp features an image of the first ever Algerian stamp, issued in 1962, along with the Algerian flag and the dates 1962-2012.

Algeria's first stamp was issued on 1 November 1962 to celebrate national sovereignity and since then, the postal service has continued despite political upheaval.
