A stamp issue celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of the first Isle of Man TT race of the late motorcyclist Joey Dunlop has sold out within 72 hours. The stamps, which were sold in a folder - limited to 300 issues - also included a piece of a racing T Shirt worn by Dunlop.

Isle of Man Stamps, who produced the stamps, has announced that it has issued a new stamp collection, charting the achievements of Dunlop. Isle of Man Stamps general manager Maxine Cannon said: 'Hopefully this will go some way to making up for the disappointment of Joey fans who missed out on the limited edition folder.'

Joey Dunlop was a Northern Ireland motorbike racer who died in 2000 in a racing accident in Estonia, at the age of 48. During his career he won the TT Formula 1 race six times and was TT world champion on five occasions.

The new Joey Dunlop collection, issued on 31 May, includes a commemorative sheet of stamps, two vintage Joey Dunlop postcards and an exclusive print of artwork from the 2001 stamp issue 'Joey King of the Mountain'. Visit the Isle of Man Post Office website for more details.
