New Zealand's Mitre Peak is portrayed on the third in New Zealand Post's Kiwi Treasures coin series.

Mitre Peak, on New Zealand's South Island, was named 150 years ago for its resemblance to a bishop's mitre. At almost 1,700 metres tall, it towers above the surrounding landscape of Milford Sound and is a well-known challenge for climbers, with five different peaks to tackle. Each year, around one million visitors explore the Milford Sound landscape, meaning that this coin should be a hit with collectors.

The coin is available in Gold Proof ($10 denomination), Silver Proof ($1) and Silver Specimen ($1). The coin features a kiwi bird standing in front of Mitre Peak, and beside fronds of fern, one of the country's national symbols.

To purchase the coin, visit the New Zealand Post website.
