The forthcoming visit of the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge to New Zealand is to be marked with the issue of two commemorative stamps.

New Zealand Post has announced that the royal visit, due to take place in April 2014, will be marked by two stamps featuring the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their son Prince George. The 70c stamp features the first family portrait of the trio - taken by the duchess's father Mike Middleton, whilst the $2.40 value shows the duchess gazing down at George whilst the duke (Prince William) looks on.

Whilst this trip will be the first time that the duchess has visited New Zealand, Prince William visted the country in 2011 to see the effects of the Christchurch earthquake and to meet some of the survivors. This time, the pair will visit Wellington, attend a war memorial service at Blenheim, see plans for rebuilding in Christchurch and join in a yacht race in Auckland.
