Russia has issued three stamps featuring winter sports, to celebrate the XXII Olympic Winter Games to be held in Sochi in 2014.

The stamps feature the sports of ice hockey, curling and biathlon and feature two athletes taking part in each of these sports. Whilst curling and ice hockey are well-known team games played on ice, biathlon is a lesser-known sport which will feature at the 2014 Winter Games when there will be five types of biathlon - individual, sprint, pursuit, relay and mass start - with both men and women competing in each section.

The 2014 Winter Games will take place from 7 to 23 February, with over 6,000 athletes representing more than eighty countries.

The Winter Games stamps are available on a stamp sheet which features all three of the stamps, with a centre of the Sochi 2014 logo and the Olympic rings.
