The forthcoming Stampex event, to be held at the Business Design Centre in Islington, London, between 17 and 20 September, will have a ‘seaside’ theme, with a special stamp sheet and free postcard showing the best of the British coast.

The theme for the UK’s national stamp exhibition has been inspired by the planned release of Royal Mail’s ‘Seaside Architecture’ stamps, which are set to be launched during the show. The customised stamp sheet, which will be available to buy from the Information Stand at the show, features ten 1st Class Union Jack stamps, with labels alongside showing famous seaside buildings such as Blackpool Tower, Scarborough Castle and Brighton Royal Pavilion.

Meanwhile, a free postcard will be given to every visitor and features a seaside-themed image provided by the British Postal Museum & Archive.

The show will offer a wide range of material thanks to the 100-plus dealers in attendance, while visitors will be able to sample some of the country’s best stamp and postal history collections in the ABPS philatelic display, which will include all FIP Classes together with Cinderella and Picture Post Card Classes.

Stampex will also have a German theme, with the German and Colonies Philatelic Society marking their fiftieth anniversary with a special display entitled ‘Germania Posta’. You can read more about the Society and German philately in the October issue of Stamp & Coin Mart.

Don’t miss your FREE copy of the official Stampex show guide, given away with the October 2014 issue of Stamp & Coin Mart. The show guide includes all the information you need to make the most of a visit to the London event.
