The last butterfly (in the series)

11 November 2022
Guernsey Post has released the final stamp in the ‘Heart of the Forest’ series

The new stamp shows a butterfly with flowers.

The stamps in the ‘Heart of the Forest’ series have been created by paper sculptor and illustrator Gail Armstrong, whose speciality is creating 3D artworks from flat sheets of paper, using previously issued Bailiwick stamps and miniature sheets. Each stamp in the series has a £1 value.

‘We are delighted with our stamp series which Gail Armstrong has created using previously issued Guernsey and Alderney stamps and miniature sheets, which she has transformed into beautiful three-dimensional paper cut images to depict elements of sustainable forest management,’ said Bridget Yabsley, head of philatelic at Guernsey Post. ‘This is a philatelic first for us and, as well as being a fantastic entry into the world of philately, with the entire series retailing at £4, we know that our customers have enjoyed trying to identify our previous stamp issues on these stamps.’
