Monaco's new three-stamp set recognises the Prince's architectural contributions

Throughout his reign, Prince Rainier III pursued an ambitious policy that fostered its economic and social progress.

One stamp marks the development of the eastern part of Monaco's railway, which allowed the birth of Larvotto, a seaside district essential to tourism, which has continued to develop, with the creation of a large hotel complex as well as a congress and exhibition centre, the Grimaldi Forum.

The next stamp depicts the Fontvieille embankment, entirely built on the sea, which made possible the creation of a new district with sports facilities, a port, housing, shops, and industries. T

The third stamp recognises the building in 2002 of the largest semi-floating dyke in the world , which helped to double the reception capacity of Port Hercule and to accommodate cruise liners.
