Aland Post and the USPS are among the first to reveal the designs of their 2016 festive stamps.

Swedish illustrator Maja Lindberg has been enlisted to provide two images of elves preparing for Christmas – carrying presents and decorating the Christmas tree.  Maja said of her designs: ‘I wanted to create a sense of Christmas in my illustrations; a wintry scenery under a starry bright sky and tiny Christmas elves preparing for Christmas.’

Meanwhile, the USPS has revealed four new Forever stamps showing house windows decorated for the holiday season: with a candle, wreath, star and Christmas tree. Two of the views are showing looking into a house, whilst the other stamps show the view from the perspective of looking out of the house. Art director Ethel Kessler of Bethesda, MD, designed the stamps with original artwork by William Low of Huntington, NY.
