Founded by Prince Rainier III in 1953, the Yacht Club de Monaco is the subject of a single stamp from Monaco.

Keen to develop a structure capable of attracting and retaining the loyalty of the yachting fraternity worldwide, Prince Rainier III founded the Yacht Club de Monaco in 1953 with a vision that it would be a key element in the future development of the port and tourism in the Principality.

President of the Yacht Club since April 1984, H.S.H. Prince Albert II has emphasized the sporting aspect of the club, by strengthening the training structures for young sailors and by creating new international events such as the Monaco Classic Week, the Primo Cup and, more recently, the Monaco Energy Boat Challenge.

Since 2014, the new Club House, designed by Lord Norman Foster, has encouraged the creation of the “Yachting Monaco” Cluster and “La Belle Classe Academy”, a training center specializing in super yachting. An approach to affirm Monaco's position as the world capital of yachting.
