Monaco Post continue their tradition of celebrating the many different teams and cars to grace the Formula 1 circuits with a €1.80 value dedicated to the Brawn GP001, the car that gave Jenson Button his historic world championship.

As Sporting Director for Honda in 2008, Ross Brawn seized the opportunity to purchase the Japanese team in order to create his own, Brawn GP, in 2009.

Equipped with a Mercedes engine and a double diffuser, the singleseater GP 001 completely dominated the 2009 season and gave the driving team of Jenson Button (from Frome in Somerset) and Rubens Barrichello (Brazil) the chance to compete for the title.

Indeed, the Monaco Grand Prix of that year saw the Brawn team achieve a 1-2, with Button taking his third win of the season, and his team-mate coming second.

In its first and only season, the car won the constructor’s title and helped British driver Jenson Button become world champion.

The team was bought out by Mercedes in 2010.
